We’re in a rebirth and growth stage
You know what it feels like to get your “second wind?” This church has been around for about 50 years. Every church goes through phases. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs over the years. But at the moment, we’re heading into a growth spurt !
We believe and teach the Bible
We look to the Bible as the foundation for truth. We believe the Bible shows us the best way. God’s way! We like to dive into the Bible and learn all we can from it.
We are a non-denominational church
Although we don’t have official ties with any other churches, we are a part of the enormous, global group of all people who believe in Jesus Christ and have warm relationships with many churches in Muscatine and around the world.
We are a charismatic church
We believe in God’s power, and we practice the supernatural things that the Bible talks about, like praying for miraculous healing. When you see someone get healed, it’s hard thing to forget. It’s not every day, but we see physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional healings and changes in people’s lives.
We are informal
There’s no dress code here. Our gatherings are more like big family get-togethers than “services.” Which means we laugh, cry, sing, dance, and often…eat!
We listen to God
The Bible is filled with examples of God speaking to people. And he still speaks to people!
We know God uses each of us
The Bible talks a lot about God giving each person different gifts and abilities that help the church. The church functions at its best when we all use what God gives us.
We forgive
When we make a mistake, we know we can always run to God and to the people of our church for an understanding ear. God forgives, and so do we.
We value prayer
Following the example of Jesus, we know it’s important to spend time with God in prayer, and we make opportunities for this.
We encourage participation
We have time during our Sunday gatherings where any church member can talk about what they’re learning or what God is doing in their life.
We are multi-generational
We value kids. We value old-timers. Our youngest is a baby and our oldest is in their late 80s. If you’re in that range, you will fit right in!
We’re multi-ethnic
For a small church in small-town Iowa, you may be surprised to see a range of diverse ethnicities represented in our group.
We love the world
The church has been involved in a range of global outreach efforts.
We’re friendly
Many people who visit our church comment on how welcoming people are here. Not sure, it might be caused by sugar from the donuts 😆
We follow Jesus
The basic premise of “church” is that we’re a group of people who’ve decided to follow Jesus, together.
