Psalm 91
By Joel Dobony
We who dwell in the secret place of the Most High God,
Shall in no dark and desolate place begin to trod.
The Lord is my strength and my fortress I will say,
And to Him, I will not cease to pray.
Surely He will deliver me from the fowler’s snare,
And no disease will affect how I fare.
He will cover me with his wings and there I will stay,
His Buckler and shield I will keep every day.
I will not fear what hides at night,
Nor by day what’s hidden from sight.
I will not be afraid of the pestilence,
Nor the destruction that seems immense.
Ten thousand will fall at my right hand,
And a thousand more will cease to stand.
But I will not fear the power of disease,
Nor the plague that made their breathing cease.
I will see with my eyes the wicked’s reward,
How his heart is struck with his own sword.
His angels will protect us from the evils of sin,
They will guard our going out and our coming in.
They will carry us up, we will utter no groan,
They will not allow you to dash your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the serpent,
But you will not be hurt not even a dent.
He will protect us for we hold fast to him,
He will deliver us from the evils of sin.
When we call to Him, He will reply,
Those who trust in the Lord will never die.
With long life, they will be satisfied,
And on the wings of salvation, they will ride.
